Most fantasy football owners wait until the last round to draft a kicker. If you are among these kicker-last owners, here are five sleeper kickers to look for towards the end of the draft.
Cincy was scoring at will last season, and as a result, Nugent was second in NFL with 52 extra points. However, his 18 field goals were 31st in the league. Luckily, the Bengals' offense will likely come back down to earth this season and Nugent will see a drastic increase in field goals.
Bryant was only 27-of-27 last season, but his lack of attempts was largely due to the team’s inability to move the chains. Atlanta’s offense will be much more productive this season with a healthy Julio Jones and Roddy White. Bryant will be much busier this fall and will be a reliable weekly option in all formats.
Walsh kicked just 26 field goals last year, which was a big step back from the 35 field goals and 10 50-yarders he kicked in 2012. However, Walsh still has a monster leg and can make any kick on the field. Minnesota will get plenty of yards out of Adrian Peterson and the inexperience at the quarterback position will help Walsh increase his field goal attempts in 2014.
Despite the lack of extra points (26), Tucker was tied for the league lead in field goals (38) in 2013. He may not match those numbers this season, but he will likely see more field goal attempts. Look for Stover to finish as a top-five fantasy kicker in all formats this fall.
Hauschka was the number one kicker drafted in most formats this past summer, but he barely cracked the top-five in most formats when it was all said and done. As a result, he will likely fall in many drafts this summer. Hauschka is still as safe as they come and the veteran will once again carry his weight game after game for fantasy fans. Consider him a steal after the first couple of kickers come off the board.
