If you read my article yesterday, then you should have enjoyed a great night from Felix Hernandez and a decent start from Bud Norris. The beauty with choosing Norris was the ability to put in some higher-priced hitters like Giancarlo Stanton who happened to hit two HRs last night. Now let's look at who the top 5 pitchers will be for tonight.

(Prices are based off FanDuel salary-cap leagues)

The pride of Coconut Creek HS in Florida has pitched well so far in August by winning both of his starts with a 2.45 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and five strikeouts in each outing. Tonight he gets to face an abysmal Boston Red Sox team that's been the worst hitting team in the league over the past month. Additionally, their current hitters only have a .169 batting average against Latos over 69 at-bats. This is an excellent matchup for Latos to dominate.

4. Doug Fister - Washington Nationals ($8,500)

Fister has pitched extremely well over the past month. During that span, he has a 3-1 record with a 1.33 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and a respectable K/9 rate of 7. This included a matchup against the New York Mets, who happen to be his opponent tonight, where he pitched seven shutout innings with seven Ks and zero walks. With his career 0.66 ERA against the Mets, Fister is in a prime position to dominate them again. He is your safest option tonight.

3. Adam Wainwright - St. Louis Cardinals ($9,900)

Wainwright's outings have been up and down like a yo-yo over his last five starts. During that span, he's allowed two, six, zero, seven and two runs in that order. However, this good start/bad start pattern will come to a positive end tonight as he faces the Miami Marlins on the road. He owns a 4-1 record with a 2.11 ERA and 8.4 K/9 rate against them. He has been great in road starts with a 1.32 ERA and 0.92 WHIP. You can start him without fear.

2. Jon Lester - Oakland Athletics ($10,200)

Lester may be the happiest pitcher in MLB after getting traded from the Red Sox to the Athletics in a "worst-to-first" scenario. Speaking of first, he gets to face the red-hot, first-place Kansas City Royals tonight which may cause concern. However, he is 8-3 with a 1.65 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 7 K/9 rate against them in his career. Additionally, current the Royals are only batting .190 against Lester and will be cooled off by his performance tonight.

1. Chris Sale - Chicago White Sox ($10,600)

Chris Sale is worth every penny of his price tonight. Over the past month, he's gone 2-1 with a 2.33 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and a ridiculous K/9 rate of 12. Additionally, he's had a swinging strike rate of 14.7 and his FIP has been 1.95 which means that he's been pitching even better than his incredible numbers indicate. He also gets to face the San Francisco Giants and their No. 25 rank in wOBA over the past week. Sale is the clear-cut No. 1 SP tonight.
