After years of underachieving, the Minnesota Twins finally seem to be heading the right direction. They have some big name prospects like Miguel Sano, Byron Buxton, and the recently called up Trevor May, but perhaps the most intriguing prospect for fantasy baseball fans is SP Jose Berrios.

The 20-year-old has been dealing all year long and has quickly earned his way to Double-A. Berrios has an 11-6 record through two minor league stops and has continued to mow through batters. He has a 2.37 ERA and 129 K’s through 125.1 innings of work.

Even better, he has only walked 32 batters all year long. Berrios has displayed outstanding control throughout his professional career and the Puerto Rican fireballer rarely misses his targets.

The right-hander isn’t the biggest hurler in the game. He stands at an impressive 6-foot-0, but the fireballer shockingly weighs just 187 pounds. However, the 2012 first round pick (32nd overall) can throw serious gas. He steadily averages around 94-98 MPH on his fastball, including a 101 MPH fastball in July.

Berrios is one of the best young pitching prospects in fantasy. He will be climbing prospect charts during the offseason and will come with a hefty price tag in dynasty leagues next season. He will likely make his MLB debut sometime in 2015, and it may be better to add this future ace before the end of the 2014 season.
