For any fantasy baseball team, starting the right players is unsurprisingly the key to success. This is especially true in the immensely popular daily leagues where a single player can mean the difference between a big payday and crushing disappointment. Based on matchups and talent, the following players could all be in for an outstanding day on Aug. 29 and deserve your utmost consideration.

It took a few months, but Hardy is finally swinging the bat how most thought he would in 2014. The shortstop has been excellent over his past 19 games as he's posted a strong .343 average to go along with four HRs and 12 RBIs. Look for that success to continue vs. starter Trevor May. May owns a horrific 8.79 ERA over his four appearances, and right-handed bats have tormented him to the tune of a ridiculous .425 average.

4. OF - Jose Bautista: Toronto Blue Jays

This slugger has struggled through most of August, but with a HR in each of his last two contests, he looks to be pulling through. A date with a weak lefty should be even more good news for him today. Chris Capuano will toe the rubber against the Jays this evening, and not only has he posted an awful 6.06 ERA since the beginning of June, but Bautista owns a cool .337 average with nine HRs vs. left-handers over 101 at-bats this year.

3. P - Chris Archer: Tampa Bay Rays

After a bit of a rocky start to the season, this right-hander has been no joke on the mound. Archer has now posted a dynamic 2.25 ERA over his past 18 outings, and fantasy players have to love his lofty 8.41 Ks per nine innings on the year. The Rays will face a weak Boston Red Sox offense tonight, and to go along with an ugly 2-9 record over their last 11 games, the Sox have scored three runs or fewer in eight of those contests.

2. 3B - Adrian Beltre: Texas Rangers

The Rangers' offense has struggled mightily in recent weeks, but you certainly can't blame that on Beltre. The veteran has posted an outstanding .422 average over his past 12 games, and seven of those have been of the multi-hit variety. Beltre should continue his onslaught of left-handed pitching today vs. Brett Oberholtzer as opponents are batting .289 against him on the season.

1. DH - Victor Martinez: Detroit Tigers

Martinez's remarkable season has improved even more in August as the switch-hitter has managed a tremendous .353 average to go along with a whopping 27 RBIs over 27 games. Considering the matchup, another big evening could be in the cards. The Tigers will face starter Scott Carroll, and he's been absolutely battered over his past six starts as he's posted an embarrassingly high 6.84 ERA.
