Knowshon Moreno 2014 Fantasy Football

With just one day until the NFL kicks off the 2014 season, fantasy owners are looking for last minute swaps and picks in their drafts.

One guy who could be overlooked was very effective for owners last season. He has since moved from the Denver Broncos to the Miami Dolphins and is currently second on the depth chart. However, he should see a great amount of playing time despite not being named a starter.

Knowshon Moreno is that guy, and he had the best year of his career last season.

Lamar Miller is the back who currently stands in front of Moreno. However, Miller did not get full-time reps last season and had 10 or fewer rushes in eight games last season, only once garnering at least 20 carries. His role in the passing game was also limited as he was targeted only 35 times by Ryan Tannehill.

That allows a guy like Moreno to play a bigger role as a backup. The 27-year-old scored 10 touchdowns on the ground and three more through the air. He was targeted 74 times by Peyton Manning in Denver and caught 60 of those passes. Moreno rushed for more than 1,000 yards for the first time in his career and was a major contributor to one of the greatest offenses in NFL history.

The former Georgia Bulldog is currently rated as the No. 37 running back according to NFL.com. That is a steal for teams looking to snag their third or fourth running back/flex option. Moreno is going to give owners numbers on the ground and through the air. Tannehill should find Moreno more than he did Miller last season.

Moreno will most likely find himself on the bench for most teams, but he is an excellent option to have. Look for him as your starting lineup fills up.
