2014 Fantasy Football Start or Sit: RB Knowshon Moreno

Knowshon Moreno

Brad Barr-USA TODAY Sports

We saw all what kind of running back Knowshon Moreno was with the Denver Broncos. The question was how good could he be with the Miami Dolphins. That question was answered in Week 1. With a favorable matchup in Week 2, I say continue starting Moreno until he proves otherwise.

Moreno left the Broncos to join a rush-friendly Dolphins team this past offseason. Reports surfaced that Moreno entered training camp a little out of shape, which gave way to Lamar Miller to get reps with the first-team offense. Miller began game one as the starter, but it was Moreno who lit up the stat sheets. He carried the ball 24 times for 134 yards, 5.58 yards per carry, and a touchdown. Miller had just 11 carries for 59 yards.

Entering Week 2, the Dolphins face a running back-friendly Buffalo Bills team. The Bills allowed 128.9 rushing yards per game last season, fifth-most in the league. This 2014 defense held the Chicago Bears to just 86 rushing yards in Week 1, 23rd in the league.

Moreno is owned in 100 percent of ESPN.com leagues, and rightfully so. Miller doesn’t possess the skill Moreno has, which makes the decision to start Moreno a lot easier. With Ryan Tannehill spreading defenses with the long ball to Mike Wallace, Moreno will be able to break through the defensive line and cut up field.

With a 101.6 ADP (11th round), you most likely own a better running back. However, with all of the off-the-field problems with some and committee situations with others, Moreno will be your best rusher this week. Moreno will have 22 carries for 96 yards and a touchdowns this week (15 points).

Use Moreno with confidence in Week 2.
