Fantasy Football Week 3 Projection for New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski played on a limited basis last Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings, catching four passes on six targets for 32 yards. He did not score any touchdowns and, in other bad news, Tom Brady has not looked his sharpest through the first two games.

There are some who might say that you should drop Gronk from your fantasy football team, but you will not find me in that camp just yet due to the tight end’s high statistical ceiling. The Pats will start to work out the kinks in the next month and until then, we will just be seeing him in a few less possessions per game.

Gronkowski is still not completely healthy, but they should continue to up his usage as the season goes on. They really need him in the playoffs, which is why the Patriots are trying to ease him back into the water.

Against the Oakland Raiders next week, I would expect Gronk to snag seven receptions for over 100 receiving yards and at least one touchdown. If he snagged two, it would not shock me in the slightest. All I’m saying is that you should not be upset if he lights it up on Sunday, which is a real distinct possibility.

He could put up that stat line even while only playing half of the game’s snaps if Brady targets the tight end enough times, and fantasy owners would be foolish especially considering the opponentto sit either of them on Sunday.
