Week 4 Fantasy Football Projection: Cam Newton Will Breakout

Since the start of the season, Cam Newton and his fantasy football stock have been on a slight decline. The Carolina Panthers‘ quarterback is still adjusting to life without some of his favorite receivers as he’s developing a nice relationship with rookie sensation Kelvin Benjamin. Despite coming off a loss last week against the Pittsburgh Steelers, expect a huge game out of Newton in Week 4.

For fantasy owners everywhere, don’t fret as Newton should have a field day against a weak Baltimore Ravens‘ defense. Considering the Panthers plan to slowly ease Newton back into being a dual-threat kind of quarterback, he should be able to pick apart their defensive secondary with precision through the air.

It’s expected the Panthers will throw in some zone-read run option plays against the Ravens, which should allow Newton to rack up even more fantasy football points. While many fantasy owners are hesitant as to whether Newton is still worth starting, please note this Week 4 matchup will be a huge opportunity for him to have a breakout game.

While the Panthers are still somewhat worried about overexposing him to hits due to his style of play, Newton should be able to get a few plays where he can ultimately decide to use his unique abilities to make big plays. Whether it’s in the air or on the ground, Newton should have plenty of reasons to smile once it’s all said and done.

Overall, Newton is absolutely worth putting into your lineup as your QB1. Make no mistake about it, Newton should have a monster of a game. The Panthers will be just fine in the long-term despite all their offseason departures.

Week 4 Fantasy Football Projection: 24 for 35, 284 yards, 35 rushing yards and two passing touchdowns
