Fantasy Football Week 4 Start or Sit: RB Carlos Hyde

Rookie Carlos Hyde has the potential to be a future superstar, but he will definitely need more time developing. The San Francisco 49ers running back hasn’t really taken off as expected; not only is he behind others on their depth chart, he’s also been dealing with some nagging injuries. Facing a tough Philadelphia Eagles team, don’t expect much out of Hyde for your fantasy football team in Week 4.

Even though he did rush for a touchdown last week, he only had three carries throughout the entire game against the Arizona Cardinals. With just 63 rushing yards this season, Hyde is one of those developmental players that will take time to break out.

As he is dealing with an annoying calf injury as well, fantasy owners should absolutely sit him this week. The 49ers don’t want to risk a more severe injury or cut into the playing time of starter Frank Gore, who continues to run well. The Eagles know how to effectively stop the run, which won’t bode well for any hope that Hyde will have a strong game this week.

Overall, stay away from Hyde this week, but keep him around on your team as he might be a nice surprise later on this season once he’s fully healthy and hits his potential.
