Indianapolis Colts Defense Fantasy Football Week 6 Projection

One of the most surprising performances from a fantasy football defense so far though the 2014 season has come from the Indianapolis Colts. They are currently ranked seventh in points (39) in standard ESPN formats, while ranking 16th in the league against the pass (240.4 yards/game) and 12th against the run (101/1 yards/game).

The defense has now allowed less than 17 points in three straight contests, racking up double-digit fantasy points in all three contests. The unit has also filled out the box score during their recent three game winning-streak, as Indy’s defense has picked off five passes and registered 11 sacks.

This week they will get to tee off on the turnover prone Houston Texans. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick may have led the team to a 3-2 record, but he has been picked off six times and fumbled the ball twice in the past three games alone. He is a turnover machine and will give Indy plenty of chances to make plays against him.

The Colts have been producing like a top-tier defense and are shockingly owned in just 10.1 % of ESPN formats. They are certainly worth the waiver wire pickup this week, especially considering their favorable matchup, so don’t be afraid to drop a bye week defense for Indy in Week 6.

Week 6 Projection: W 31-14, 14 Points Against, 2 INTS, 1 FR, 3 SACKS
