Andre Johnson Fantasy Football Week 6 Projection

Andre Johnson

The Thursday night games have not been as exciting as the games played on Sunday. The average margin of victory is 31.25 points per game. Amazing. The Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans look to buck the trend this week. In what should be a shoot out, expect a lot of passing yards, which bodes well for all the receivers. If you own Andre Johnson, start him.

Johnson hasn’t been the receiver we thought he was. He currently ranks as the 41st wide receiver in ESPN.com standard scoring leagues, tied with other veteran wide outs like Anquan BoldinGreg Jennings and Marques Colston. His season-high for receptions are six, reaching that total three times. His highest yardage total is 93 after five games. Johnson has yet to record a touchdown.

Johnson looks to be losing targets to second-year receiver DeAndre Hopkins. Johnson leads 42-31, but the gap is closing. Hopkins is faster, healthier and prime for a breakout season.

There is a bright side for Johnson, though. He owns the Colts. In his last four games against his division rival, Johnson has recorded 140 or more yards. This includes the 229-yard, three-touchdown game at home last season. Despite the struggles by quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, Johnson will be a top-10 wide receiver in Week 6. He is dealing with an ankle injury again, but he’ll take it easy in practice and will be ready for Thursday night.

Johnson will own the Colts again, hauling in eight passes for 92 yards and a touchdown (15 points).
