Jeremy Maclin Fantasy Football Week 6 Projection
After tearing his ACL last season, no one expected Philadelphia Eagles WR Jeremy Maclin to be a top-20 fantasy football wideout in 2014. He was recovering from a serious injury and all anyone could talk about was the emergence of WR Riley Cooper, but Maclin has come back with a vengeance this season.
Maclin has shockingly caught a touchdown in four of his first five games. He has similarly been targeted 57 times through the first five games, which is tied for tops in the league with Julio Jones of the Atlanta Falcons. He has completely taken over the number one role in Philly.
Conversely, Cooper has not been as good as advertised. He is averaging a meager 31.6 receiving yards per game and has yet to have a game with over 55 receiving yards. He may have caught his first touchdown of the season last weekend, but he still hasn’t come close to matching the production of Maclin this season.
This weekend, Maclin faces a very beatable New York Giants secondary. The G-Men are currently 25th in the league (121.0 yards/game) against the pass and the unit is letting teams throw the ball all over them. The Eagles will test New York deep all night and Maclin will receiver plenty of chances to make a play against this struggling defense.
Maclin obviously is a must-start each week and he seems primed to have another big game in Week 6. If you own this star wideout, you know what to do.
Week 6 Prediction: 6 REC., 89 YDS, 1 TD
