The Detroit Lions have been struggling throughout the 2014 season. WR Calvin Johnson has been nonexistent this fantasy football season after dealing with a nagging ankle injury, while running backs Reggie Bush and Joqiue Bell have similarly struggled to stay healthy.

Bell suffered a concussion earlier in the season and missed last week’s game, but he was honestly having a miserable season before his injury. He hasn’t scored a touchdown since Week 1 and hasn’t racked up over 51 rushing yards in a single game.

Bell has also been absent from passing game. He caught six balls for 61 receiving yards in Week 2, but he only added three receptions for 13 yards in the other three contests. He was supposed to be a decent PPR option after hauling catching 105 balls through his first two seasons, but that also remains to be seen.

Bell hasn’t officially been cleared to play this Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings, but I think he should be easily able to return. Unfortunately, I don’t think he will see too many carries. The team won’t want to push their back, especially considering that Bush could be out this week as well. Detroit will once again mix in back George Winn and he will end up taking at least 10 carries away from Bell when it is all said and done.

No matter how desperate you are for running back option this weekend, Bell won’t be worth plugging in. He is just coming back from injury and he hasn’t had a decent fantasy outing this season. Don’t expect him to see more than 15 overall touches this weekend.

Week 6 Prediction: 13 ATT., 41 YDS, 0 TDs, 2 REC., 12 YDS, 0 TDs
