After watching WR Hakeem Nicks walk out the door, the New York Giants drafted WR Odell Beckham in the first round to be a complimentary option to WR Victor Cruz. The rookie has a bright fantasy football future, but he unfortunately suffered a hamstring injury early in camp and was forced to sit on the bench for the first four games of the year.

Beckham finally made his NFL debut last week against the Atlanta Flacons. He hauled in four balls for 44 yards and a sensation 15-yard touchdown. He received five targets in the contest and quickly earned the trust of QB Eli Manning.

Beckham also proved that he could beat opposing defensive backs down field. There were several balls that were overthrown that Beckham still had his man beat. If Eli was accurate with his throw, the young wideout could have easily had close to 100 yards.

The G-Men play a very vulnerable Philadelphia Eagles defense that is 29th against the pass (274.2 yards per game) and 24th against the run (132 yards per game). The defense has constantly been torched this season and this game should turn into a high-scoring shootout, which bodes well for the wideout.

Beckham will be sleeper starter this week. He has a great matchup and is primed to have another big game for fantasy owners. Feel free to start him as a WR3 in all formats.
