Fantasy Football Week 6 Start or Sit: Toby Gerhart

One player that was hyped up way too much this summer was Jacksonville Jaguars RB Toby Gerhart. He was grabbed in the second round in many fantasy football drafts and has continually failed to live up to his worth in 2014.

Gerhart has amassed a meager 123 yards on the ground this year. He is averaging an embarrassing 2.6 yards per carry and the back simply doesn’t appear to be ready to take over a full-time job in the NFL.

More to the fact, the Jaguars are currently 31st in the league running the football at an embarrassing 67 yards per game. They brought in Gerhart to replace Maurice Jones-Drew, but he has failed miserably and has been unable to get out of the backfield play after play.

Lately, the team has been starting to incorporate rookie RB Storm Johnson into the rotation more. He ripped off 27 carries last week and has started to push RB Dernard Robinson for more touches in this offense. Either way, it shows that the team is really losing faith in Gerhart.

Even worse, Gerhart sprained his foot in Week 5 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was severely limited in the game and could be in jeopardy go missing this week’s game.

Gerhart has been a total bust this season. He simply can’y be trusted at this point in the year and it would be better to keep him burred down your bench in Week 6.
