Playing for a team as dedicated to the rushing game and a devastating defense as the Seattle Seahawks, quarterback Russell Wilson is quickly establishing himself not only as a star signal-caller in the NFL, but also a must-start in Fantasy Football as the 2014 campaign rolls on.

Wilson enters his Week 6 showdown with the Dallas Cowboys tied for 10th in the league in passing touchdowns with eight through four games. However, considering the fact that the Seahawks had their bye in Week 4, he’s done so on just 111 pass attempts.

What Wilson is excelling at this year is his efficiency with the ball. Of all passers with at least 100 attempts, Wilson is tied with San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers for first in the NFL in completion percentage at 70.3 percent. He doesn’t go off for big yardage each week, but he’ll consistently get 200 to 250 yards per game through the air. Where Wilson really makes his mark is in the ground game.

Running back Marshawn Lynch is still a powerful force on the Seattle offense, and he’s as big a part of Wilson’s success in fantasy football as anything. Although Lynch has only rushed for 100 yards once this year, he’s becoming an even bigger target for Wilson through the air, with a receiving score in each of the team’s last three outings. That ability has opened up Wilson to move around in and out of the pocket, where the quarterback is just as likely to rush for big yards as Lynch.

The Dallas defense that Wilson will face this weekend should provide him with plenty of opportunities to move the chains. The Cowboys rank 18th against the pass, giving up 247.8 yards through the air and eight passing scores. Although Dallas has allowed just the sixth-fewest fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers this year, Wilson doesn’t need any one of his receivers to carry the load for him.

Dallas will likely want to turn this game into a ground battle, but that plays into Wilson’s game just as well. While Wilson might not put up gaudy passing numbers, his fantasy value is top-shelf, and if you have him on your roster, you absolutely must keep him in the lineup this week.

Projection: 19-for-26 passing, 235 yards, 2 TD. 42 yards rushing
