Fantasy Football Week 7 Waiver Wire Pickup: WR Mohamed Sanu

Mohamed Sanu

Mike DiNovo-USA TODAY Sports

Has a player been as versatile as Mohamed Sanu has been for the Cincinnati Bengals this season? I would be hard-pressed to come up with an answer. He can catch touchdown passes and even throw them. He is widely available and should be added to your fantasy roster.

Sanu is on his way to having the best season of his career. He was very limited in his first season in 2012 and failed to reach 500 receiving yards last year. In five games this year, he has 28 receptions for 354 yards and three touchdowns. Sanu is also 2-for-2 with 68 passing yards and a touchdown.

In Week 6 against the Carolina Panthers, Sanu had a breakout game with 11 receptions for 120 yards and a score. He had the benefit of being the only receiver for Andy Dalton to trust and target throughout the game.

Superstar wide receiver A.J. Green has been hit-or-miss this season. He did well in Weeks 3 and 5, but the toe has been bothering him. He missed Week 6 and may miss another week or two. If Green is out for another game, Sanu becomes the No. 1 target and could put up big numbers again.

Even with a clear path to top-10 numbers, Sanu is still available in a lot of leagues, 61.2 percent of ESPN.com leagues to be exact. The Bengals travel to face the Indianapolis Colts in Week 7.

The Colts are one of the best pass defense in the league, allowing just 12.4 points per game to opposing wide outs. However, Dalton will have to keep chucking it up to Sanu and it could be a huge payoff for fantasy owners.
