The Fantasy Football season thus far has certainly been a difficult one to project, especially when you look back at average draft positions and so on from the start of the year. Moving into week 7, though, perhaps we can get a little bit better grasp on what’s going on in the league. These 10 big-time players in terms of fantasy could have lackluster weeks. (Note: Injured players are discounted from this list.)

With nine touchdown receptions in five games this season, it’s no surprise that Thomas has been the top tight end in fantasy this season. However, you have to wonder if this rate is sustainable and going up against a 49ers defense that has been solid in defending the tight end this season, Thomas may not be the monster that he has been every week this year.

Though having only two TDs on the season keeps him out of top-10 in wide receiver scoring, Jeffery has still been a consistent target that you have to expect big things from going forward. Against a Dolphins team that is much better against the pass than the run, though, the Bears passing game may not be the best bet and that obvious affects Jeffery.

A week after disappointing against the Bears defense, Julio Jones and the Falcons travel to Baltimore for week 7. The Ravens’ pass defense certainly hasn’t been great this season, but having the Falcons outdoors doesn’t bode well for Atlanta’s number one wide receiver.

7. Andrew Luck

Luck is the top guy in fantasy this season by a wide margin and he’s going up against a Bengals defense that has been up against it recently. Even with that, though, Luck seems due for an average game and Cincy’s defense is still quite talented. It won’t be a bad week, but it won’t be the monster week people have seen consistently thus far.

6. Brandon Marshall

Along with Jeffery, Marshall is also going to be down in week 7 from where I’m sitting. I think Matt Forte gets a ton of work, which doesn’t bode well for the receiving core—Marshall not excluded.

5. Matt Ryan

Same story as with Julio Jones, Ryan is playing outdoors. That’s an environment that hasn’t always been kind to him, even in a good matchup. Given their struggles against another bad defense in Chicago in week 6, there’s warranted skepticism about how Ryan will do in Baltimore.

4. Matthew Stafford

Though Stafford will be at home against a poor Saints defense, he’s going to be without Calvin Johnson again. We thought having Golden Tate would help Stafford’s woes without Megatron, but that wasn’t the case in week 6. I don’t expect it to be the case once again this week either.

3. Marshawn Lynch

Lynch has far fewer carries, receptions, and yards from scrimmage than any other back ranked in the top five in fantasy right now, but he’s been getting in the endzone. However, given his lack of yard production and workload, a tough matchup against the Rams solid run defense doesn’t bode well for him as a fantasy prospect in week 7.

For the reasons for this, see what I said about Jeffery and Marshall. I just think the Bears go run-heavy in this game, which doesn’t leave much love for the Bears passing game.

Given how badly Colin Kaepernick tore up the Rams on Monday Night Football, you might like Wilson’s prospects in week 7. This could blow up in my face, but I didn’t like what I saw from the Seahawks QB against Dallas and I’m worried how that’ll affect him this week. This is largely a gut feeling, but I think Wilson has an average output at best.
