Demarco Murray Fantasy Football Week 7 Projection

It’s hard to imagine Demarco Murray, albeit anybody, getting off to as fast a start to the 2014 season as he has. He is projected to have one of the most touches a running back has had in a season ever (480); and expect a lot to come against the New York Giants this week.

The Dallas Cowboys take on the Giants in a Week 7 NFC East conference battle. The Cowboys are 5-1 — something that nobody expected — and that comes off the heels of Demarco Murray’s 785 yards and six touchdowns through six games. His ability to wear down defenses and keep his offense on the field has proved crucial to the Cowboys’ success, and he’ll do it against the Giants, too. The Giants give up the fifth most fantasy points to running backs out of all the defenses, with the elite running backs such as LeSean McCoy and Frank Gore killing them. Both had over 100 yards on a healthy amount of carries, suggesting that the defense cannot stop a consistent running attack. Demarco has proved this in 2014, so the outlook for this week is very good.

Tony Romo and the rest of the offense look stellar in their games as well, which can only help Murray. The balanced attack the Cowboys have this year makes them Super Bowl contenders, as well as must-have fantasy commodities. The Giants are a team you don’t want your receivers to play for fantasy statically – they give up the 25th most points to receivers – but that’s with terrible quarterbacks stepping up to the plate and striking out, like Kirk Cousins and Ryan Fitzpatrick. The teams they lost to had good quarterbacks, like Matt Ryan, Matthew Stafford and Nick Foles. Tony Romo is on par with these guys, so his resulting play should be good, if not great.

Demarco Murray is one of the best players to have for fantasy football, and he’s poised to have a monster week against the fading Giants.

Final Prediction: 22 carries for 150 yards and one touchdown and three catches for 25 yards
