Fantasy Football Week 7 Sleeper: WR John Brown

John Brown

The Arizona Cardinals has a talented wide receiver corps, but they aren’t performing up to potential. With many injuries taking place across the board, rookie receiver John Brown may be worth a pickup.

Veteran Larry Fitzgerald looks to be on the decline. He is currently ranked 57th among receivers in ESPN.com standard scoring leagues. Brown is six spots ahead of him at 51. With a hot start, nine catches for 109 yards and three touchdowns, Brown received a lot of attention early.

The Cardinals have dealt with quarterback issues throughout the season. Carson Palmer dealt with a shoulder injury and Drew Stanton left the game in favor of Logan Thomas in Week 5. Palmer made his return last week and played well, 250 yards, two touchdowns and 18 fantasy points. If Palmer can stay healthy, Brown and the rest of the Cardinals passing game will see a huge bump in fantasy value.

Brown has some great matchups coming up. He and the Cardinals face the Oakland RaidersPhiladelphia EaglesDallas Cowboys and St. Louis Rams in Weeks 7 through 10. The Eagles and Rams are in the top five in fantasy points allowed to opposing wide receivers. While the Raiders and Cowboys are in the lower half, they can still be thrown on.

Brown is currently available in 97.1 percent of ESPN leagues. He will not win you any leagues, but is worth keeping on your radar. In deeper leagues, Brown is worth picking up. With Palmer back in the lineup, the passing game will be much improved.
