Joe Flacco Fantasy Football Week 7 Projection

Joe Flacco

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

After a career game last week, Joe Flacco will look to continue his hot streak against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. If you own Flacco, consider starting him in what is a great matchup.

Flacco lit up the scoreboard early in Week 6. He threw for five touchdowns in the first 16:03 of the game. While he was held scoreless in three quarters, those five scores were enough to rack up 32 fantasy points. Right now, Flacco is the eighth-best fantasy quarterback in ESPN.com standard leagues.

The Ravens receiving corps is helping out Flacco a lot. Steve Smith is out to prove something after being cut by the Carolina Panthers and is the replacement Flacco and the Baltimore Ravens needed after Anquan Boldin left. The loss of Dennis Pitta will hurt Flacco a bit, but having veteran Owen Daniels in the lineup isn’t too bad.

The Falcons defense is one of the worst in the league. The unite allows the 17th-most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks. Most recently, the defense allowed Jay Cutler to throw for 381 yards on 38 attempts (10.0 yards per attempt). Flacco could have similar results with the group of guys he has around him.

Flacco’s stock continues to trend upward heading into this game. Expect him to complete 24 of his 39 passes for 288 yards and two touchdowns, good for 19 fantasy points. If you own Nick Foles, who is on a bye, or Cam Newton, who has a bad matchup, then Flacco is worth picking up and starting.
