Fantasy football can be a cruel mistress. There are those players who consistently score touchdowns, and these players populate fantasy football rosters. But occasionally there will be a player who comes out of nowhere to vulture touchdowns away from stars and ruin all of our weekends. Yes, these are the studs who helped no one.

The Dallas Cowboys were going up against a New York Giants defense that was allowing eighth most points to tight ends over the last three weeks, and you can bet Jason Witten owners were excited. Well, instead of Witten having a great game, it was Gavin Escobar coming out of his cave to wreak havoc on Giants’ D and Witten owners' hearts.

Where did this guy come from? Seriously. Owned in 0.0 percent of ESPN leagues, Cooper Helfet’s 12 points didn't help anyone, unless you had Russell Wilson and could bask in his glory. It would have been nice to run a play for Marshawn Lynch in the red zone rather than pass it to some backup tight end who no one has ever heard of.

Andre Ellington doesn’t care about your fantasy football team. Ellington pulled himself once the Arizona Cardinals got close to the goal line because he claimed that Stepfan Taylor deserved a touchdown. Well, Ellington, a TD on top of your 88 rushing yards and 72 receiving yards would have made plenty of people happy. Now we're all depressed.

Seeing the backup tight end theme? Jared Cook had a favorable matchup against the Seattle Seahawks, who have allowed the second most points to a tight end. Awesome start. Until Lance Kendricks swoops in and steals a touchdown right from the grasps of Cook.

The winner of studs who helped no one in Week 7 is a full back. Yes, that dying position in the NFL whose only job is to block for the running back and to steal points from Travis Kelce or Dwayne Bowe in the red zone. If two catches for 12 yards and a TD don’t scream “point stealer,” then I don't know what does. Darn you, Anthony Sherman.
