Week 7 was filled with a lot of surprises and let downs for fantasy owners. Some starters went down with injuries and others were shut down by opposing defenses. Owners shouldn't fret too much about some of the disappointing numbers. They also shouldn't invest too much into one week worth of stats for the other players.
Here are the three biggest surprises and let downs on the seventh Sunday of the NFL season.
Surprise - Denard Robinson

The Jacksonville Jaguars offense has a lot of good pieces, but just cannot solve the puzzle. The team signed running back Toby Gerhart to replace Maurice Jones-Drew. He hasn't been the answer, so tStorm Johnson started last week. He wasn't bad, but couldn't get the job done. On Sunday, the Jaguars turned to Denard Robinson. He had 127 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries. He is available in 99.5 percent of ESPN.com leagues.
Let Down - Brandon Marshall

Throughout the 2014 season, Brandon Marshall has been dealing with an ankle injury. He played through it in Week 2, but struggled since. He and the rest of the Chicago Bears offense was held to just 14 points by the Miami Dolphins. Marshall caught six passes for just 48 yards. Things won't get easier for Marshall as he faces a New England Patriots defense that allows the second-fewest passing yards per game this season.
Surprise - Tre Mason

The St. Louis Rams are another team cycling running backs. The team started with Zac Stacy as the starter, but he hasn't been able to produce. Head coach Jeff Fischer has gone with a running back-by-committee strategy. Mason might have changed the coach's mind after his 18 carries for 85 yards and a touchdown. Stacy did not record a touch. He could light it up again against the Chiefs defense. He's available in 97.7 percent of ESPN leagues.
Let Down - CJ Spiller

The former fantasy first-round pick has continuously let owners down. CJ Spiller added to his streak by recording one carry for 53 yards before breaking his collarbone, thus ending his 2014 season. Before Week 7, Spiller was ranked as the 31st running back. He wasn't worth starting this season and may be borderline undraftable next year. If you own Spiller, look at Mason as a replacement.
Surprise - Ryan Tannehill

Despite a level on inconsistency, Ryan Tannehill is a serviceable fantasy quarterback. He has developed more chemistry with Mike Wallace, which helped rank him in the top 20. After Sunday's game, Tannehill now has two touchdowns in three straight games. He found eight different receivers and even rushed for 48 yards. With the Jacksonville Jaguars up next, Tannehill could be a nice bye-week fill in, available in 87.3 percent of ESPN leagues.
Let Down - Kirk Cousins

Kirk Cousins looked like he was the new starting quarterback after Robert Griffin III went down with an injury. However, Cousins has played poorly in that stretch. He threw for only 139 yards, one interception and one lost fumble in Week 7. He was benched in the second half in favor for Colt McCoy. The starting quarterback for Week 8 is a big question mark. Cousins is healthy, but RGIII is expected to return to practice this week.
