Alfred Morris Fantasy Football Week 8 Projection

Alfred Morris

Looking at Alfred Morris‘ season stats, he appears to be an elite back, ranked as the 13th most productive RB in the league. But his season has really only had two successful games thus far, and the Dallas Cowboys are looking to keep it at just that after hosting the Washington Redskins on Monday night.

Morris’ top outing came in a home game against the 1-6 Jacksonville Jaguars, running for 85 yards and two touchdowns (20 points). Considering he was running against one of the worst run defenses (at home nonetheless), that game was a “gimme” for him. If he were playing an average performing defense on the road, his figure would likely much less. In fact, he hasn’t scored a touchdown on the road since Week 7 of last season.

Take away one of Morris’ touchdowns from the Jaguars game and he drops down to the 20th best back. But that still includes his performances at home, where he’s found the majority of his success. Maybe he’ll be able to find success this week from extra carries he may be granted with the troubling Redskins quarterback situation at play. But they haven’t shown a commitment to the run yet, and I don’t see that changing this week when they’ll have to throw the kitchen sink in to attempt to stop the streaking Cowboys.

That being said, Morris will only get you points on yards this week. He’ll get owners brave enough to start him seven points this week on 75 yards and won’t be much of a factor in the passing game as an RB2-RB3 start this week.
