DeSean Jackson Fantasy Football Week 8 Projection

Washington Redskins WR DeSean Jackson hasn’t exactly been consistent this fantasy football season. His yardage totals through the first seven games of the 2014 NFL season (62, 19, 117, 9, 157, 115, 49) have been all over the place. The point being that it is almost impossible to predict the kind of game that Jackson will have, making him one of the most exciting and simultaneously unpredictable players in the league.

Jackson is the kind of player that can take over a game on a single play, but disappear for huge stretches of time. The inconsistency at quarterback for Washington also makes it difficult to predict how Jackson will perform from week to week.

In Week 8 Washington has a tough divisional matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. This is not good news for fantasy owners of Jackson or any Washington receiver, as the Cowboys are currently allowing just 15 fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers according to ESPN leagues.

Despite the fact that Jackson ranks as the 12th best wide receiver in ESPN fantasy leagues, he is simply too inconsistent to justify starting this week. Couple his inconsistency, with the fact that Washington will be starting with Colt McCoy at quarterback, and it appears that Jackson owners will be in for a rough week.

Even though McCoy had a great game last week filling in after Kirk Cousins was benched, it is likely that that performance was an anomaly, and highly unlikely that he will be able to lead Washington to victory this Sunday.

Fantasy Football Week 8 Projection: 4 catches, 65 yards and 0 TDs
