Terrance Williams Fantasy Football Week 8 Projection

Aside from a two-point performance from Terrance Williams in Week 2, he’s been one of the most consistent wide receivers in the league. He’s produced seven-point performance or better since that game, ranking as the 12th-best WR option. With the Washington Redskins having problems on defense — including losing Brian Orakpo for the season with a pectoral injury and giving up the 11th most fantasy points to WRs — the question is if Williams can post double-digits this week.

The simple answer is yes. The second-year wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys has scored six times in seven games this season, compared to five last year in a full season (granted, only starting half of the time). Of those five touchdowns in his rookie campaign, one came in a home game against the Redskins — like this week’s matchup. Of course, that really doesn’t mean that he’s going to score this week. But it does show in his limited experience, he already has a history of success against their rivals. Williams also found success in Week 15 of last season in an away game against them, taking in over 80 receiving yards. So he knows how to beat their personnel and schemes.

With the Cowboys performing better than anyone truly expected them to, with the NFL’s best record at 6-1, there’s no telling sign of their success stopping, and a great part of that success has been from Williams catching nearly 50 percent of Tony Romo‘s touchdowns. And with the Redskins giving up multi-WR touchdown games in four games this year, it’s looking likely that even if Romo continues to look towards Dez Bryant as he did in the second half of last week’s game, Williams can still get in on the party.

Overall, expect about 60 yards from Williams with a touchdown to boot for a 12-point performance, going above his average projection of seven this week.
