Predicting the Top Fantasy Performer From Dolphins vs. Jaguars

Ryan Tannehill

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

This year hasn’t been nice to the Florida football teams. The three teams are a collective 5-14 entering Week 8. Looking to make a move in the AFC East, the Miami Dolphins north to face the Jacksonville Jaguars. While there aren’t a lot of superstars in this game, quarterback Ryan Tannehill will be the top fantasy performer among the two teams.

Tannehill has made a career of being inconsistent on a game-to-game basis. He started this season on a down note with just 178 passing yards. However, he’s turned it round. He has thrown two touchdowns in the last three games and four times over the last six. Last week against the Chicago Bears, he threw for 277 yards, two scores and racked up 23 fantasy points, fourth among all quarterbacks.

Tannehill will continue his hot streak against the poor Jaguars defense. The defense has allowed 16.9 fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks. They have a bit of a bright spot, holding opposing quarterbacks to zero touchdowns over the last two games. With the weapons Miami has, the Jaguars will have a hard time shutting down Tannehill.

The Dolphins offense is hitting its stride. Tannehill continues to build a rapport with Mike Wallace. Wallace is 16th among wide receivers in ESPN.com standard scoring leagues. In the absence of Knowshon MorenoLamar Miller has played very well. He has at least 132 total yards or a touchdown in four straight games, with four scores in his last three.

Tannehill will continue to impress fantasy owners with another good performance on Sunday. He will throw for 265 yards, two touchdowns and rush for 31 more yards (21 points).
