In order to succeed in weekly fantasy games such as FanDuel, you must make sacrifices and understand positional value. Players who are fantasy gold suddenly hinder your chances when working with a set salary. These five players may produce well but don't make up for their cost and therefore don't belong in your FanDuel lineup.

Heading into this season, LeSean McCoy was expected to break the 2,000 rushing yard mark. Now, six games later, with only one touchdown and one game surpassing 100 yards rushing, the 26th-ranked fantasy running back has been a huge disappointment. Even if his strong Week 6 showing signals the turnaround of his season, a matchup against the stingy Cardinals defense is not worth the $ 8,000 FanDuel is asking for him.

Gio has been a stud this year, totaling the seventh-most fantasy points of any running back. The Ravens’ top-ranked defense has been stout against running backs. Sure they allowed 10 points to Bernard in Week 1, but over the last four weeks they’ve allowed an average of less than seven. Is the possibility of Gio squeezing out a respectable game worth the fourth-highest cost of any FanDuel running back?

3. Antonio Brown

With the year that Antonio Brown is having, it’s hard to argue against him for any lineup. By putting him on this list I’m not suggesting he’ll have a bad game, seeing as in his worst game of the year he had 84 yards. But against the team allowing the fewest points to fantasy receivers, maybe he’s not quite worth the $ 8,700 this week. If anything, Jordy Nelson against the Saints is worth the extra $ 100.

As 2014 approached, many expected both Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery to finish as top-10 fantasy receivers. Seven games later, the two are barely in the top 20 and face a Patriots team allowing the second-fewest points to opposing receivers. Not only are the Bears' receivers not worth the cost of admission, but they’re barely worth the start in a regular fantasy league.

If any quarterback was going to dethrone Peyton Manning as the fantasy king, it was going to be Drew Brees. Now, averaging the seventh-most fantasy points per game, Brees is still a solid play, but isn’t worth the $ 9,100 tag he comes with. Even at home, the Purdue product hasn’t produced like usual. A matchup with the Packers figures to be a shootout, but Brees has reached 20 fantasy points only once all season. There are better options.
