Fantasy Football Week 9 Start or Sit: Tim Wright

Why do NFL fans love fantasy football so much? Simple — it’s unpredictable and exciting, and if you have Tim Wright or any other New England Patriots player on your fantasy team, then you know exactly what I mean.

Wright has had an up-and-down season in 2014, and when the Patriots got off to a terrible start in the first quarter of the season, he was virtually nonexistent on anybody’s fantasy radar. However, he’s managed to score three touchdowns over the last four games, but he laid a fantasy goose egg two weeks ago in Week 7, so can you trust him in Week 9?

Tom Brady seems to have a lot of trust in Wright, who has emerged as his new “Aaron Hernandez” in their two-TE system. Wright has 13 receptions over the last four games and a 100 percent red zone TD success rate (three TDs from three red zone targets). Moreover, with the Patriots’ offense firing on all cylinders for four consecutive weeks, it seems like a no-brainer to pick up Wright and plug him into the tight end position in your starting lineup, especially if your ace is on a bye week.

New England will host the Denver Broncos on Sunday in a game that will most definitely be a shootout, and if you saw what Wright did to the Chicago Bears in a shootout that ended up as a blowout, it would be wise for you to pick him up from the free agent pool as soon as you’re done reading this post.

Make Wright your starting TE in Week 9 unless you’re confident in your already-proven TE. Believe it or not, he might even be a safe play at the flex position as well if you’re hurting in this area.
