Colin Kaepernick Week 9 Fantasy Football Projection

It has been an up-and-down year so far for fantasy football owners of San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick. Kaepernick has averaged 17 fantasy points per game this season, which isn’t terrible, but it’s safe to say he hasn’t lived up to the potential some fantasy owners may have had for him.

The fourth-year pro does offer us some hope in a heavy bye week where he goes up against a struggling St. Louis Rams defense. Kap should flourish against his Week 9 opponents that are currently allowing the fourth-most fantasy points per game (19.0) to opposing QBs. In Week 6, he had the best performance of his season against the Rams, totaling 343 passing yards for three touchdowns and three rushes for 37 yards.

Kaepernick enters Sunday’s contest having never thrown an interception in six career meetings with St Louis. He also totes a 104.0 QBR and 8.11 YPC on the ground against the division foes. He is coming off a bye week where the 49ers were able to recollect themselves after a devastating loss to the Denver Broncos in Week 7 and prepare for the second-half playoff push. With the much-needed rest and rejuvenation, I expect the 49ers’ starting QB to come out with passion on Sunday.

Those of you who stashed Kaepernick on your bench and are in need of a bye week fill-in should not hesitate to put him in your starting lineup. The matchup is a favorable one, and you can expect the 49ers’ offense to come out with a boom to start the second-half of their season

Kaepernick’s fantasy forecast: 20-for-30, 256 yards, two TDs, six rushes for 51 yards and a TD. One fumble lost.
