Week 9 Fantasy Football Projection: QB Peyton Manning

Now obviously Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning is a must-start week after week in every fantasy football format. He is one of the best – if not the best – quarterbacks in fantasy and he puts up All-Pro numbers week after week.

Regardless, though, there has shockingly been some concern this week about the fantasy potential of the five-time NFL MVP. Denver takes on the red-hot New England Patriots and the Pats currently boast one of the best pass defenses in the league. They are allowing a meager 210.9 passing yards per contest to opposing offense, which is currently second in the entire league. They are also allowing a meager 14.4 fantasy points per contest to opposing quarterbacks. Needless to say, Bill Belichick‘s defense is back to frustrating fantasy quarterbacks on a weekly basis.

However, it is still Peyton Manning. He has 22 touchdown passes already, including three touchdowns or more in six of his seven games this season. He has also thrown just three picks on the year. He is simply full-proof from a fantasy perspective. It is hard to imagine any defense really stifling this Denver offense, which is something Manning owners can take solace in heading into this tough Week 9 matchup.

Manning won’t throw many long bombs and likely won’t eclipse the 300-yard mark against this vaunted defense, but I fully expect him to finish with at least three touchdowns this Sunday afternoon against his old nemesis.

Week 9 Projection: 279 YDS, 3 TDS, 0 INTS
