Fantasy Football Week 10 Start or Sit: Kendall Wright
Kendall Wright has always been that fantasy player who is going to break out but never does. I don’t blame him either; with all his skills, he has no quarterback to throw to him. He’s like Antonio Brown: quick, good acceleration and a great route runner, but Brown has perennial Pro-Bowler Ben Roethlisberger slinging passes to him all game. Wright is on his third quarterback currently with Zach Mettenberger starting for the Tennessee Titans. Before he had Charlie Whitehurst and Jake Locker, with Whitehurst producing one of the only games that Wright has exceeded single digits in points.
So far Mettenberger has had an okay season, but he’s been throwing to Delanie Walker and Justin Hunter more than the No. 1 wideout. This week, the Titans, led by their rookie quarterback, play away from home against the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens have a red-hot defensive line, making 15 sacks over the past four games. Although they surrendered six touchdowns, there’s a big gap between Big Ben and Mettenberger. Also, they give up the second most points to wide receivers in fantasy, but that’s after playing the Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers twice, as well as Andrew Luck, who’s on course to break Peyton Manning’s single-season yards record.
This week, Wright deserves to be sat. The Ravens’ defense is looking for redemption after their last game, and they will take it out on the Titans and Mettenberger. Wright is also too inconsistent to start in a competitive league confidently and has yet to get over 70 yards in a game. Leave Wright on the bench in Week 10.
