Fantasy Football Week 10 Start Or Sit: Tony Romo

Tony Romo Cowboys

The question to start Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo entirely hinges on if he’ll play in their London matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The answer is pretty simple: He’s listed as questionable on official reports, but if owner Jerry Jones has any hand in him starting, he’ll be playing. The exuberant owner has stated he sees no reason for his star QB to be sidelined this week.

But let’s slow down there. The Cowboys are on a two-game skid, and that could certainly be a product of Romo’s back injury. However, they’re playing the Jaguars. With the Cowboys’ dominant run game behind an elite offensive line and the record setting pace of DeMarco Murray, there’s no real need to risk more injury to Romo’s twice-operated back.

Still, it seems the Cowboys are desperate to find themselves in the win column before heading into their bye week.

That being said, let’s assume they bring out all the guns and put Romo under center this week. If he starts, put him in your lineup, he’ll have a big game. The Jags may be holding quarterbacks below 28 percent of the league average in the last five weeks, but their big games in offense allowed have come against similar offenses and quarterbacks. Andrew Luck and Philip Rivers had their way with them weeks back, both topping 25 points with seven touchdowns combined.

With that, expect Romo to post similar numbers across the pond. He’ll toss three touchdowns (looking for Dez Bryant often as a crutch) and top it off with 325 yards. In a standard league, that’s good for 25 points. So if you’re questioning if he’ll play, that’s the only reason not to start him. Just make sure you’re checking the official inactive lists before kickoff.
