Fantasy Football Week 10 Start or Sit: Doug Baldwin

The Seattle Seahawks will be back at home this week facing off against the New York Giants as heavy favorites, and the Seahawks are looking up at the Arizona Cardinals in their division. Week 10 is a must win for the Seahawks at home against the banged up and struggling Giants.

This season the Giants’ secondary has been decimated by injuries, with the most recent blow being Prince Amukamara tearing his biceps against the Indianapolis Colts on Monday Night Football. They will be heading to Seattle with three cornerbacks out for the season.

Seattle’s passing offense hasn’t been spectacular by any means this season, and they did trade their best wide receiver Percy Harvin to the New York Jets a few weeks ago. By trading Harvin, however, it has set up Doug Baldwin to become the Seahawks’ No.1 WR and a great option for fantasy football owners.

Since the trade of Harvin, Baldwin’s targets are way up in the last three weeks, as quarterback Russell Wilson has thrown to Baldwin 24 times over that span. With more targets, Baldwin’s stats have increased for fantasy owners. His best game was the first one that the Seahawks played without Harvin, as he caught 10 passes for 123 yards and a touchdown in the loss to the St. Louis Rams.

New York will likely be sending a banged up Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie to cover Baldwin, which is a matchup the Seahawks shouldn’t be shying away from. The Giants are currently ranked 28th in passing yards allowed per game, so despite Wilson only throwing for more than 250 yards twice this season, it shouldn’t discourage fantasy owners of Baldwin from starting him in Week 10.
