Fantasy Football Week 10 Start or Sit: WR Cecil Shorts

Quite frankly, if you have Cecil Shorts on your fantasy football roster at this point, you need to reevaluate how you are running your team. Once the top target in Jacksonville, Shorts has seen his fantasy value fall tremendously this season.

To make matters even worse, Shorts was limited in practice this week with a hamstring injury, as he has all season long. So even if he were to enter Week 10 as the No. 1 receiver, there is no way to know whether or not that hamstring injury to hamper his performance. He just can’t be trusted as a viable fantasy option.

In six games this year, he has no more than nine fantasy points, and he hasn’t reached 50 receiving yards in the past three weeks. While Blake Bortles has a talented future ahead of him, he’s no Peyton Manning right now, and you can’t really trust him to look for his No. 3 or 4 target frequently.

The only positive that Shorts has this week is that the Jacksonville Jaguars will most likely be down a few touchdowns as they take on the Dallas Cowboys over in London. But that still isn’t a reason for you to start him. No Jaguars receiver is really worth any starting position in your lineup, but you would much rather want Allen Robinson or Allen Hurns on your roster.

When you combine the hamstring issues, inconsistency at the quarterback position and lack of production in 2014, starting Shorts this week is high-risk, low-reward, and it will the be the same situation moving forward.
