Top 5 Defenses On Fantasy Football Week 11 Waiver Wire

Due to the fickle nature of defensive performances from week to week, many fantasy football players have decided to simply stream their team defense per week. By employing this method, they can take advantage of juicy matchups each week instead of hoping that they can rely on one defense to be dominant for the entire season. Week 11 has some nice matchups to take advantage, of and the following five defenses are your best streaming options.

With only four percent ownership in Yahoo! leagues and 6.3 percent ownership in ESPN leagues, the Redskins' defense will be available to just about anyone in any league. Despite only producing two double-digit fantasy outputs this year, they still boast one of the best run defenses in the league. Facing a bad Tampa Bay Buccaneers team that makes any defense look better than usual, Washington is a great Week 11 streaming option.

4. Minnesota Vikings

Choosing the Vikings' defense against a struggling Chicago offense is the epitome of "striking while the iron's hot." Over the last two games, the Bears have given up an average of 15 points per game to opposing defenses. When you also consider that the Vikings have recorded the most sacks in the league from Weeks 6 through Week 9, it's becoming clear that they're a talented, young defense on the rise. Stream them with confidence.

3. Cleveland Browns

The Browns' defense has been playing well lately. They have averaged 10.6 fantasy points over the past five weeks, and their Week 11 game against the Houston Texans may end up being another week with 10-plus points. The Texans will be rolling out QB Ryan Mallett for his first career start and while the Browns don't have much film on him, he lacks first-team reps. With 30 percent universal ownership, they're a great grab.

2. Pittsburgh Steelers

With 54 percent ownership in Yahoo! leagues and 52.7 percent ownership in ESPN leagues, it seems that overall opinions on the Pittsburgh defense is almost an even split. However, they should be owned in more leagues this week against the Titans. Tennessee has a talented QB in Zach Mettenberger, but he's still adjusting to the NFL game. If Ryan Shazier and Troy Polamalu return for this game, then that bodes even better for the Steelers.

1. Green Bay Packers

Green Bay is currently 32 percent owned in Yahoo! leagues and 29.4 percent owned in ESPN leagues. They have a matchup that's better than it appears against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 11, but owners may be afraid after seeing the Eagles put up 45 points on the Carolina Panthers. However, Green Bay's defense is lightyears ahead of the Panthers' defense this year, and I strongly recommend streaming Green Bay as a top-five defense for Week 11.
