Anyone who watches football can say that Rob Gronkowski is one of the best players in the NFL when healthy. The problem is, however, that Gronkowski has dealt with a plethora of injuries that have limited his production in the past two seasons. If you can think back to 2012, Gronkowski’s season was unfathomable. In that season, he caught 90 passes for 1,327 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns. Yes, you read that correctly.
Ever since their Week 4 blowout loss at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs, Gronkowski, as well as the New England Patriots, have been quite amazing. After that Monday Night Football loss, the Patriots have won five in a row and much of their success has come from Tom Brady and Gronkowski in the passing game. In the past five games, Gronkowski has caught 36 passes out of 47 targets. In that span, he has over 500 receiving yards and five touchdowns. There is no questioning Gronk’s hot streak over the past month, and he should be a force on Sunday.
Going on the road against one of the best teams in the AFC in the Indianapolis Colts, the Patriots will be in a shootout in this game simply due to the fact that Brady and Andrew Luck are two unbelievable quarterbacks. Although the Colts have played better defense of late, outside of their Week 8 blowout loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, Gronkowski is too good of a player to leave on your bench. If he is on your roster, Gronk is a guaranteed performer on Sunday. Those players don’t come around too often, especially from the tight end position.
