Ryan Tannehill and his fantasy football stock have been somewhat inconsistent so far this season. Unfortunately, the Miami Dolphins quarterback has been dealing with shoulder and ankle injuries that are requiring him to play only in limited fashion during team practices and on the field. While the Dolphins said he will absolutely be starting against the Buffalo Bills on Thursday Night Football, fantasy owners should be very wary about starting him.
Considering that he had a mediocre performance last week against the Detroit Lions in which his team lost 20-16, he wasn’t able to be a difference-maker in this matchup. He only had 207 yards, one touchdown and one interception while looking frustrated on the field with things not clicking on offense the way they should be.
It’s in the best interest of fantasy owners everywhere to not start Tannehill this week since he won’t do much against a tough Bills’ defense. He was gaining some momentum by making plays on the ground with his legs earlier this season, but that has been limited due to his injuries as well as playing some tough opponents that knew how to contain him.
Don’t expect much out of Tannehill, as he’s also struggled against the Bills pretty much his entire career. At most he should be your last resort if you have no other choices due to bye weeks or difficult matchups. Make no mistake about it; he shouldn’t be your QB1 or QB2 option this week.
Overall, on a short week and dealing with nagging injuries, Tannehill’s struggles will continue to add up against a Bills team that’s hungry for victory. Look elsewhere because he won’t put up the numbers that most will need to win in their respective fantasy football leagues.
Fantasy Football Week 11 Projection: 11-for-35, 180 passing yards, 2 interceptions, 12 rushing yards
