Fantasy Football Week 11 Start or Sit: Alfred Morris

In Week 11, the Washington Redskins take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and this means that you are starting Alfred Morris with confidence as he may have the biggest game of his 2014 season.

It’s been a less-than-stellar season for Morris this season as he hasn’t recorded a 100-yard game and has a 4.0 yards-per-carry average, his lowest of his short career. But ever since his worst performance of the year against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 5, his production has increased with each passing week, culminating in a 92-yard, two-touchdown performance against the Minnesota Vikings two weeks ago. It was easily his best game of the season.

It isn’t a coincidence that this performance coincided with Robert Griffin III‘s return to the lineup. With Griffin’s return, the zone-read now becomes a package the Bucs will need to prepare for. Griffin’s ability to read the defense puts Morris in positions to gain yardage in bunches because it can get Morris the ball in space. And although he is a bigger back, he still possesses the ability to make defenders miss when need be.

In this juicy matchup, I expect him to reach the 100-yard plateau and add a couple more touchdowns. The Buccaneers have the worst defense in the league, even though they do have some unbelievably talented players on the roster. Tampa Bay is giving up an average of 114 yards on the ground, as well as allowing seven rushing touchdowns. The Bucs are a mess, and the Redskins should feed Morris all game.

With a week to get accustomed to Griffin’s return, expect this offense to be efficient and run-heavy. Morris should have his biggest game of the year. Owners should start him with the expectation of putting up top-10 numbers this week.
