Dwayne Allen Week 11 Fantasy Projection

Dwayne Allen has emerged as one of Andrew Luck‘s favorite targets and a touchdown machine this season. But what can you expect from him in Week 13 against the New England Patriots? Let’s break it down.

Allen has scored a touchdown in all but two games this season, and coming off the bye, the Indianapolis Colts will be rested and prepared. Allen is a big target, but also has great hands, making him a huge red-zone threat.

Somehow Allen is a free-agent in over 20 percent of ESPN leagues. Even though Luck throws to his other tight end Coby Fleener, this shouldn’t make anyone afraid to start him as their TE1.

While Allen has been in the end zone a lot, he hasn’t had a game with more than four catches or 70 yards receiving, making him a less attractive option in PPR leagues.

The Patriots’ eighth best pass defense going against the Colts’ best pass offense in the league will create for an interesting matchup, however the Patriots are 20th in defending fantasy points to tight ends, making this a favorable matchup for Allen. They have also allowed a tight end to score in each of their last three games.

Chances are the Patriots defensive backs Brandon Browner and Darrelle Revis will have T.Y. Hilton and Reggie Wayne covered in the red-zone and Allen will grab another touchdown.

Allen should have one of his biggest games of the year.

Projection: Allen catches five passes for 60 yards and a touchdown, giving standard scoring owners 12 points. Start him this week, and count on him the rest of the way.
