Building the Perfect NBA FanDuel Lineup For Nov. 17

There is a nine-game slate tonight for NBA action which means there are many different ways a daily fantasy player can construct their lineup on FanDuel. Some may decide to with a "Stars and Scrubs" approach with hopes of getting LeBron James and Anthony Davis on the same lineup. However, this may not be the ideal approach to take for tonight. Let's take a look at how to construct a perfect NBA FanDuel lineup for Nov. 17.

It seems as if the alleged, and overhyped, beef between LeBron James and Kyrie Irving has been resolved as the Cavaliers are on a four-game winning streak. Irving's FanDuel production over the last three games has been 50.5, 47.3 and 37.1 fantasy points. Going against a Denver team that ranks 24th in defending the PG position, this is a great spot for Irving to put up a 40-plus fantasy point outing.

The former Kentucky Wildcat has been putting on a clinic when it comes to distributing the ball and being the centerpiece of the Celtics' offense. His last two outings against the Oklahoma City Thunder and Chicago Bulls produced fantasy point outputs of 51.8 and 42.6 points. Facing a Phoenix Suns team that is ranked 25th in defending the PG position, Rondo appears to be poised to put close to 50 fantasy points again tonight.

Manu Ginobili - San Antonio Spurs SG - $5,500

While there is always the fear that Gregg Popovich may sit him along with the other All-Star veterans of the Spurs, tonight doesn't seem to be one of those nights. Tonight's game is not the back end of a back-to-back and Ginobili put up 32.3 fantasy points in his last outing. He may easily do it again tonight against a Philadelphia 76ers team ranked dead last in defending shooting guards. It's a dream matchup for the four-time NBA champion.

Wesley Matthews - Portland Trail Blazers SG - $6,300

Although his opponent tonight, the New Orleans Pelicans, are ranked 19th against the shooting guard position, Wesley Matthews is usually a must start when it comes to home games. All of his 30-plus fantasy point performances have taken place in Portland this season, and he will need around 31.5 points to justify his price tag. In a game that Las Vegas has set a 203 over-under line for, there's a good chance Matthews hits his value.

LeBron James - Cleveland Cavaliers SF - $10,700

Do not overthink the recent news that The King missed practice today because of a cold as he is still expected to play. He would love to continue the winning streak of his Cavaliers and building more momentum after facing early season criticism about team chemistry. Even with a cold, expect LeBron's floor to be around 40 fantasy points with a ceiling of 55-plus fantasy points. It also helps that Denver is ranked 20th against SFs.

Since $ 10,700 was just spent on The King, it's vital to find a punt option in order to still have money left for the PF and center positions. Usually, it would be wise to steer clear of starting a SF against the Charlotte Hornets due to the tenacious defense of Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. However, MKG has been ruled out and it makes Al-Farouq Aminu a nice punt option at a cheap $ 3,700. To justify that price, he only needs 18.5 fantasy points.

Channing Frye - Orlando Magic PF - $5,000

Some may think that starting Frye against the trio of Josh Smith, Greg Monroe and Andre Drummond would be a bad proposition, but it's better than it appears. The Pistons, even with a stronger defensive mindset thanks to new head coach Stan Van Gundy, are ranked 27th in defending the PF position. Due to Frye's ability as an effective stretch four, he seems poised to have one of his games with five-plus three-pointers and six-plus rebounds.

Stacking in the NBA is not strongly recommended in the same way it is for baseball and hockey. However, it can be done for tonight's game between the Celtics and the Suns. Rajon Rondo will need to distribute the ball to someone, and Jared Sullinger has been the beneficiary of several of his assists. Additionally, Sully has been a double-double machine lately and faces a Suns team ranked 21st against PFs over their last five games.

Kelly Olynyk - Boston Celtics C - $5,400

With $ 5,600 left in your FanDuel salary cap now, it would be wise to pair Olynyk with Sullinger as they should be on the receiving end of many Rajon Rondo assists. It also helps that the Phoenix Suns are ranked 29th in defending the center position. Additionally, Olynyk has really stepped up his game this season after a successful rookie year where he made the NBA All-Rookie Second Team. He should easily eclipse 30 fantasy points tonight.
