If Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jordan Matthews is still available in your fantasy football league, he won’t be for long. The rookie is still up for grabs in the majority of leagues when he should be owned and in starting lineups moving forward.

The only thing that might hurt Matthews’ fantasy value is the return of Nick Foles. Backup quarterback Mark Sanchez developed a strong chemistry with Matthews in the preseason, and it has continued into the regular season. Matthews has caught four touchdown passes in Sanchez’ three appearances (two starts), compared to two touchdown grabs when Foles was under center.

There is no definite word of when Foles will return from his broken collarbone, but it’s safe to bet on at least a couple more starts from Sanchez.

As long as he’s in there, Matthews is a must-start. In Sanchez’ two starts, Matthews compiled 12 catches for 245 yards with three touchdowns. In each of those games, he outperformed fantasy stud Jeremy Maclin. Outside of the Seattle Seahawks in Week 14, the Eagles face nothing but pass defenses that hover around mediocrity. Regardless of opponent, Chip Kelly will find ways to put points on the board. Matthews should be a big part of that equation from here on out.

He may not be a must-start when Foles returns, but he’ll at least be a low-end WR3. Regardless of starter, he is worth a roster spot. Matthews is now the clear No. 2 receiver in one of the league’s most potent offenses, so snatch him up while you can.
