Fantasy Football Week 12 Waiver Wire Pickup: WR Kenny Stills

Kenny Stills Saints

The New Orleans Saints‘ offense has treated fantasy football owners nicely for many seasons. It hasn’t been as explosive this season, but has still offered plenty of production. As long as Drew Brees is under center, the receivers in New Orleans will be worth a look in fantasy leagues. One who should be getting consideration now is Kenny Stills.

Still’s opportunity is coming about because of an injury to rookie Brandin Cooks. Cooks has been the second-leading receiver on the Saints this season, trailing only tight end Jimmy Graham. He has also received the second-most targets, and someone is going to have to pick up those looks from Brees. That person, in addition to veteran Marques Colston, will be Stills.

Stills’ role in the Saints’ offense thus far has been one of a deep threat. He has been a boom-or-bust option for most of the season in fantasy. With Cooks being sidelined for at least four weeks, it looks like Stills will be asked to add more to his plate. In a small sample size, it is something that he looks capable of doing.

In the last five games, Stills has been targeted at least five times in each, recording 21 receptions and two touchdowns. That is solid WR4 production, and with the increased workload coming his way, he should be squarely on the WR3 radar with a lot of upside depending on the matchups.

The Saints’ offense may not be clicking this season as it has in season’s past, but when a player is expected to see an increased role, it is worth taking a look at. Stills has a great opportunity ahead of him as fantasy football owners prepare for the end-of-season stretch and playoffs. This is a player you want on your roster, especially if you are an owner of Cooks.

Use your waiver priority on Stills to lock him up. He has loads of potential, and with the last batch of bye weeks coming in Week 12, he could easily slot into most rosters as a WR3 this week comfortably. Don’t miss out on Stills, as he will assuredly not be available after Week 12.
