Fantasy Football Week 12 Start or Sit: Tony Romo

Tony Romo is on his way to having yet another solid season for the Dallas Cowboys despite having back surgeries in two consecutive offseasons. In fact with the Cowboys finally providing him a solid and consistent running game, Romo is having his best season as far as quarterback rating is concerned. He is currently sitting at a 107.2 rating when his career best is 102.5 back in 2011.

This Sunday he is coming off of a bye week and he and the Cowboys go on the road to face a division foe in the New York Giants. If you look at his recent history, Romo has been good but not great coming out of a bye, but he always throws for over 250 yards and has around two touchdowns and one interception in each game he’s played. But that was in the past when the Cowboys were asking him to be superman and carry the offense. Earlier this year, when they played the Giants in Arlington, Romo had a strong game, completing 74 percent of his passes and throwing for 279 yards and three touchdowns. Jerry Jones called it his best game ever for the Cowboys; I wouldn’t quite go that far but it did remind me of some of the stat lines Troy Aikman used to put up back in the 90s.

Considering the fact the Giants are dead last in the NFL against the run and not much better against the pass, Romo should have another strong game against them this week; especially when you factor in that the weather in New York should clear up by Sunday and not be covered in snow. He says that his back is in good shape and it is the month of November when he tends to shine, so this should be a really good week to start Romo.
