Before the injuries to both of them, the duo of Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller was easily one of the bests in the NFL. However, both suffered injuries and that led to the Buffalo Bills relying on journeyman. Bryce Brown and Anthony Dixon were relied upon to take a big burden off of Kyle Orton‘s shoulders, but that job was too big for them. Now that he is healthy, expect Jackson to have a huge workload.

Although he will be going up against one of the league’s best run defenses in the New York Jets, Jackson is one of the only established players on this offense, and that alone should tell you just one reason why he will have a big game on Monday night. After Orton’s no-show performance on Thursday Night Football last week, handing off the ball to Jackson will be the best move for Nathaniel Hackett and his offense.

Although Jackson hasn’t been as good as he has been in the past in 2014, he is still a worthy RB2 option in standard fantasy leagues and PPR leagues. Jackson hasn’t gotten nearly the amount of carries he should be getting, but those numbers will most certainly go up in the coming weeks. For the Bills to set the tone early, using the run game will throw off the Jets’ defense, which means that there will be even more open holes in New York’s defensive backfield. If you own Jackson, starting him in Week 12 would not be a bad idea at all.
