Fantasy Football Week 13 Sleeper: WR Charles Johnson

In just two weeks, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Charles Johnson has rapidly become Teddy Bridgewater‘s favorite target in the passing game and should be on fantasy owners’ radar heading into Week 13.

Against the division rival Green Bay Packers in Week 12, Johnson received a team-high 11 targets, bringing in three of those passes for 52 yards and a touchdown. Including his performance from the previous week, Johnson has now surprisingly amassed over 100 receiving yards in a very limited amount of action, a sure sign for owners to not sleep on him.

This Sunday, the Vikings will clash with the Carolina Panthers, who have one of the most generous secondaries in all of the fantasy land and the NFL. In fact, Carolina is so generous through the air that they would let Johnson sit at their Thanksgiving table to feast on some fixings.

With Cordarrelle Patterson seemingly forever stuck in Norv Turner‘s doghouse, Johnson looks to have undoubtedly stolen the big-play role for Minny. Expect to see the nifty wide out targeted at least seven times down the field against a team that ranks within the top-10 of fantasy points allowed to wide receivers.

As a matter of fact, Johnson could be the jolt to carry your squad into the playoffs, especially with the likes of Larry Fitzgerald among others suffering through injuries. The “Duracell Battery,” as I like to call him due to his mixture of black and blonde hair, can provide some serious energy to your fantasy lineup down the stretch. Don’t get caught sleeping.

Prediction: 10 targets, seven receptions, 74 receiving yards, one touchdown.
