Fantasy Football Week 13 Start or Sit: Alfred Blue

The Houston Texans have not been great this season. They have gone through two different quarterbacks and their first overall pick, Jadeveon Clowney, has not produced at the level they expected. One positive, however has been the running game, especially rookie Alfred Blue.

Starting running back Arian Foster has been out for the Texans the past two weeks due to injury, and that has forced Blue into the starting role. He has done well, racking up 66 total yards last week and a whopping 156 rushing yards two weeks ago against the Cleveland Browns. The Texans are not afraid to rely on Blue as they have the last two weeks, so he will definitely get the opportunity to make plays.

Even if Foster returns this week, Blue should still get plenty of work as Foster eases back into the offense.

Blue should be able to capitalize on the playing time he gets. The Tennessee Titans are last in the league in rushing defense, allowing over 145 rushing yards a game. This is a very enticing matchup for any running back, even backups. If Blue starts in the game, you could see another 156-yard performance out of him, but if he is used only to spell Foster, he may end up with 50 yards or so, which would still be pretty good for a flex play in a standard league.

With the potential to be a top performer this week, Blue is a viable starting option in fantasy.
