Fantasy Football Week 13 Start or Sit: Mark Sanchez

As he was likely a high draft pick for some, Nick Foles‘ injury in Week 9 definitely put a damper in owners’ seasons. He was supposed to be a top ten option, and his expected time missing sent owners in a frenzy to find a replacement. Turns out Mark Sanchez has been that piece to keep the Philadelphia Eagles‘ season afloat, and quite possibly your fantasy season.

But should you start him this week? Well, pair his success with the Eagles and the NFC East rivalry game this week against the Dallas Cowboys, and there’s a some great potential for Sanchez to be a stud QB option on Thanksgiving.

Sanchez isn’t posting the most remarkable numbers you can imagine. It’s not as if he’s stepped off of the bench as a TD slinging Peyton Manning, but he’s posting remarkable yard totals — three straight weeks over 300 yards passing, and hitting 200 yards after filling in for Foles mid-way through his first game.

The downside many are seeing in him is his interceptions, throwing three double-interception games. But that’s of little concern in comparison to how many yards he’s posting. The Cowboys are a middle-of-the-road team against the pass, but have been exposed recently, letting other QBs like Eli Manning and Carson Palmer throw three touchdowns and average 300 yards each on the Cowboys.

The Eagles’ success this season has come mostly off the running duo of LeSean McCoy and Darren Sproles, and the Cowboys are a better run defense than a pass defense.  Expect Chip Kelly to attack the secondary more and continue The Sanchize’s streak of 300 yard performances, and also top it off with his season-high mark of three touchdowns in a shootout, as the Cowboys are notorious for playing worse at home this season, somehow.
