Fantasy Football Week 13 Start or Sit: Terrance West

Terrance West Fantasy Football

Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

The Cleveland Browns bounced back from their horrible performance against the Houston Texans in Week 11 with a great win over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 12, but have to keep winning if they are to make the NFL Playoffs. The entire AFC North has seven wins, so crunch time is now.

For fantasy football players, the Browns have been a nice surprise. Expected to struggle this season, several seldom-drafted players have come out of the team’s success. Two of these players are the team’s young running backs, Isaiah Crowell and Terrance West.

If you have either of these players, you probably use them as plug-and-play options throughout the year, unless your running back corps are struggling because of injuries. In Week 13, the Browns face the Buffalo Bills. If you own West and you have any other options, you should definitely sit him.

West leads the Browns in carries and yards, but Crowell has been the go-to back as of late, especially when it comes to important moments in the game. Crowell started for Cleveland against the Falcons and gained 88 yards on 12 carries, including two touchdowns. West was given 14 carries, but only gained 64 yards.

Another obstacle in West’s path this week will be the run defense of the Bills. Ranked eighth in the NFL when it comes to the run, Buffalo’s defense dominated the New York Jets and will stifle the Browns’ offense as well. If Cleveland is going to win the game, it won’t be on the ground, but through the air to Josh Gordon or Andrew Hawkins.

If at all possible, keep West on your bench and start someone else.
