The fantasy hockey waiver wire is currently full of youngsters with potential. It is the way of the league, but not all of these future stars is worth making a waiver wire claim for. One youngster that is worth adding this week, though, is Elias Lindholm of the Carolina Hurricanes.

Lindholm was drafted fifth overall by Carolina in 2013, and he has quickly earned his stripes with the big league club. He has found a spot on the team’s top line alongside Eric Staal, and the recently activated Jordan Staal. The veteran duo has already taught the 20-year-old a ton and their strong chemistry will give Lindy chances to produce points on a nightly basis.

Lindholm has 16 points on the season, including an even eight goals and eight helpers. He even has three game-winning goals, so he knows how to finish around the net. It isn’t out of the question for him to finish with 20-plus goals this season.

The kid has also seen extensive time on the power play, as he has three power play goals and three power play assists on the season. It is a rarity to see a youngster seeing this much time with the man advantage, but Lindholm continues to log solid minutes with the advantage.

Lindholm is one of the next young stars in fantasy. He is a must-own in deeper formats, especially in dynasty formats, and he will be worth adding this week off the wire.
